On the evening of Thursday, March 15th, Jeylan Mammadova hosted a charity fundraiser and networking event on behalf of Women for Women International at Calligaris SoHo. The event brought together young professionals and non-profit leaders from throughout the City to support Women for Women's efforts to educate and empower women in crisis and war-torn countries. With a view to highlighting the work done by Women for Women to help individual women, the fundraiser was organized around gallery pictures depicting specific stories, with canvassing made possible by Eastside Art Gallery, Loupe Digital, Duggal Visual Solutions, and Photobar Inc. In addition, Tamara Thompson, story-teller and poet, performed "Anansi and the Snake" and Kujegi Camara, Immigrant Justice Corps Fellow at Sauti Yetu Center for African Women and Families, delighted us with her spoken word. Food and drink were plentiful as a result of contributions from Soho Sushi, Alice's Tea Cup, &pizza, Insomnia Cookies, The Wine Hut and Imperial Vinter. Finally, the event was concluded with a raffle consisting of items donated from Adresia Wine Bar, Nikibi Studio & Design, Dos Toros, Walmart and Joan Dominique Clancy.
